  Why Does The Society Pick BORING Books To Study At The Bookstudy?

  my mom hates the daniel book and doesn't even remember studying it before.

  (she's 79 today).

  As many have already brought out, I dont think that there is such a thing as a WBTS publication that isn't boring.

  I also enjoyed the book study more than any other meeting because it was the shortest. Im just gratefull that my bookstudy was on Tuesday evening and not a Saturday morning. Arrggghhhh, I couldnt imagine having to get up for a book study every Saturday. And you know that while your at the study that field service is going to be expected afterwards.

  Im a little confuese by GetBusyLiving's last post though. I've never heard of commenting p rivileges. They would let anyone comment in my congregation.

  Greatest Rock drummers

  i was listening to zep's dazed and confused today and the rocking middle section of that song never ceases to amaze me - john bonham was from a different planet, was completely insane, or both.

  nothing i've ever heard in any other song quite compares to that.. honorable mentions:.

  neil peart on the songs tom sawyer and subdivisions.

  I have to say that first I haven't read all six pages of this thread. Also Im not a drummer, but a bass player. One of my favorite rock or hard rock drummers is Danny Carey.

  I had a hard time with the lava surfing scene but otherwise I really enjoyed it. I am a huge SW geek though so my opinion is definatley biased.

  New Release: Bible Teach book and ‘new light’ on 1914

  Excellent points you raise upside/down, many of which I had never thought about before. It kind of helps me understand the angle of some of the brothers, sisters, and especially elders that I never understood before.

  i am researching 1975 and i was curious to ask any that served as elder back then in the wtbts ever issue a directive to the congregations to stop or discourage believers from selling their property, cashing out retirements, early marriage, quiting jobs, etc., etc.................. thanks

  I generally try to be as honest as possible with everyone I come in contact with. However I will bend the truth when it comes to telling a JW where I got this information from. If they know you got it from the internet then they immediatly dismiss it as some wacked out, truth hating, apostitate web site that is merely spreading lies. They will then disregard what you said and forget about it totally. You have to be creative when your giving this information to them and do so in a non threatening mannter.

  Next time tell them that your brother in law or some other distant relative works at Bethel or is an elder and they got this letter from the GB. You can use the UN official web site to corroborate the truth in what your telling them. But avoid any other web site because they're programed to avoid that information as if one of Satans minions will immediatly hijack their prospect for eternal life right then and there in that very instant.

  I was pretty young when I went to tour the NY facilities with a large group from my congregation. I would have to say between 9 to 12 years old. I really dont remember exactly. I actually enjoyed the trip. I was excited about visiting NY not to mention that was at least three days that I didn't have to sit in a Kingdom Hall or have to go out in field service. So yeah, I had a good Bethel tour experience.

  Rebel8, your article from that Awake sums it all up in my opinion. You cant get too much closer to actually pinning down a date then that. That Awake should be current study literature for every current JW.

  Yeah, I like the sketch. I too enjoy drawing. It really comes and goes for me in waves. I'll draw for a week or two pretty heavily and then I wont touch a sketch pad for years, literally. It's been a while since I've felt the inspiration.

  My avatar is a photo of what I call my "Tiki Head". I bought him to make a necklace with. I thought he looke evil and I had to have him. He never made it into jewlry thought. He got as far as hanging from the rear view of my car.
